Lucious is a personal story in which the reality of a
social outcast is melted in the universe of the secondary characters of the
novel; characters that dive in the ocean of a world ruled by Conspiracy Theories.
A deep and
satirical treatment of our own reality, where these Conspiracy Theories rise as an explanation to the present social
crisis in which we are immersed.
A plot
where Lucious sees himself involved because the deepness of his character, as
that of all human beings, is based on his feelings and his deepest instincts
such as fear, hope, dreams, desires… precisely the things that stand for these
Conspiracy Theories. These theories appeal and intensify the feelings from the
adept, getting him to put any moral and empirical reasoning aside and adopting
this conspiracy theory as an unbreakable faith dogma in his life.
“The main
thing that I learned about conspiracy theory is that conspiracy theorists
actually believe in a conspiracy because that is more comforting.
The truth
of the world is that it is chaotic.
The truth is, that it is not the
Jewish banking conspiracy or the grey aliens or the 12 foot reptiloids from
another dimension that are in control.
The truth
is more frightening, nobody is in control.
The world
is rudderless”
Alan Moore, 2003
